The Energy Regulatory Commission has ordered MEA, Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to assistance Electricity bill for all households in Thailand to help alleviate people’s financial burden during the Covid-19 situation, be valid along 3 months from March to May.
Government tariff as following detail
For 5 Amp electricity meter
- Consuming under 150 units of electricity has no electric cost charge and those consuming over 150 units will pay the same amount as 15 Amp electricity meter size bill.
For over 15 Amp electricity meter
- if usage electricity units are more than February but under 800 units: pay the same amount as their February (before work from home because the Covid-19)
- 800 to 3,000 electricity units: pay the same amount as their February and additional units charged at 50% the normal rate.
- Consuming more than 3,000 electricity units: discounted by 30% for additional units that over than February
However, if you have paid the electricity bill of March and April (pay before discount bill) that value will refund in the next bill.
And if usage units are less than February then the electricity bill will be charged with normal rate.
